The first official publicity image has been released for DEADPOOL director Tim Miller's upcoming TERMINATOR sequel, and there's no Arnold Schwarzenegger to be seen. Instead, this image shows off the film's female stars: Linda Hamilton, reprising her THE TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2 role of Sarah Connor; Mackenzie Davis as Grace, a soldier-assassin from the future; and Natalia Reyes as heroine Dani.
Currently filming in Spain, the new TERMINATOR film doesn't have a synopsis yet, but we do know that it's only acknowledging the events of the first two movies in the franchise, ignoring the sequels that franchise creator James Cameron wasn't involved with.
Cameron is producing this sequel, which also stars Gabriel Luna as a Terminator, Diego Boneta as Dani's brother, and of course Schwarzenegger. Brett Azar, who was the CGI stand-in for the scenes that required a younger version of Schwarzenegger in TERMINATOR: GENISYS, is back to be a CGI stand-in again, and this time he's sharing scenes with Jude Collie, who will be Edward Furlong's CGI stand-in for scenes that take place during the time of TERMINATOR 2.
Scripted by Josh Friedman, David S. Goyer, Billy Ray, and Justin Rhodes from a story by Miller and producer David Ellison, the new TERMINATOR is scheduled to reach theatres on November 22, 2019.
Whatever this sequel is about, it's clear that the women in it are going to be pretty badass.
