I know how much you all love hearing about the upcoming TERMINATOR: GENISYS, whether it be spoiled plot points (there are none in this article, so relax) or James Cameron's reaction to the film (definitely filled with spoilers), so here's some news that will probably surprise absolutely no one. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has just rated the film a 12A for "moderate threat, violence, and infrequent strong language." For those of you who haven't brushed up on your BBFC certifications, that means that any child under 12 has to be accompanied by an adult. The MPAA has yet to deliver it's rating for the film, but we sure as shit have something comparable: PG-13.

We've heard rumors about a PG-13 TERMINATOR since the film's inception, and even leading man Jai Courtney stated that there were no F-bombs or anything else to indicate this movie might be rated R. We could argue that a PG-13 rating didn't help franchises such as THE EXPENDABLES, but I'd also argue that an R-rating didn't help TERMINATOR 3 either.

In any case, it looks like TERMINATOR: GENISYS is definitely looking to appeal to a wide audience that didn't necessarily grow up with the original TERMINATOR films (you'd be surprised). I don't know if GENISYS is capable of making HUNGER GAMES money, but we haven't heard yet if there will be awkward love triangle between Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, and an old Arnold Schwarzenegger. I just threw up in my mouth a little.

TERMINATOR: GENISYS will open on July 1, 2015.
