An international trailer has been released for director Cate Shortland's psychological thriller BERLIN SYNDROME, which our own Chris Bumbray gave a positive review following its premiere at Sundance.
Written by Shaun Grant and based on a 2011 novel by Melanie Joosten, the film tells the story of
an Australian photographer who meets a charismatic local man while on holiday in Berlin. After a night of passion, she finds herself locked in his apartment and soon realizes he has no intentions of letting her go, ever.
Teresa Palmer and Max Riemelt star.
Vertical Entertainment has scheduled a May 5th North American theatrical release for the film. After that, BERLIN SYNDROME will be available for viewing on Netflix.
While we wait for our chance to watch the movie in full, the trailer can be seen below. Judging by this couple minutes of footage, BERLIN SYNDROME appears to be very interesting and troubling.
