Tenet featurette takes us behind-the-scenes of the Christopher Nolan film

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

After several delays, Christopher Nolan's TENET has finally arrived (albeit not in the U.S. just yet) and audiences now have the chance to check out the director's latest epic. TENET stars John David Washington and Robert Pattinson are they are thrust into a world of international espionage centered around Time Inversion, in which the "entropy of an object or a person can be reserved." Needless to say, this impressive effect forced the production team to figure out entirely new ways of choreographing stunts and rigging all sorts of devices to move objects backwards, because you know Nolan wanted that shit done for real!

Warner Bros. has released a new featurette for TENET that goes behind-the-scenes of the production and features the cast and crew singing Christopher Nolan's praises. Our own Chris Bumbray recently reviewed TENET, and said that his "first impression of Tenet is surprisingly mixed despite my unabashed love for all of Nolan's films." However, Bumbray also feels strongly that TENET "will improve immeasurably upon repeated viewings, where the plot becomes clear allowing it to be appreciated on its own merits outside of the COVID-19 affected time we find ourselves stuck in the middle of." You can check out the rest of Bumbray's review right here.

The official synopsis for TENET:

John David Washington is the new Protagonist in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle “Tenet.” Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time. Not time travel. Inversion.

TENET will roll out in international territories on August 26th, before coming to the U.S. on September 3rd.
