My personal feelings on the current DCCU notwithstanding, I'm still pretty curious about James Wan's AQUAMAN film. While never a huge fan of the character, I still think his world – and his powers – could look pretty awesome on film, if done right. And I think Jason Momoa is well-cast as the '90s EXXXTREME era of Aquaman (and as I've said on the site before, I don't necessarily hate '90s comics, so that's actually fine to me).
And it seems the cast is starting to fill out! Besides Patrick Wilson as the villain Ocean Master, Amber Heard as his wife Mira, Willem Dafoe as his advisor Vulko, and the recently cast Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, we can now add Temuera Morrison (a.k.a. Jango Fett) to the list. He's in negotiations to play Aquaman's human father, who in the original comics was a lighthouse keeper named Tom Curry.
And Morrison is no stranger to the DC universe, having previously played Abin-Sur in the GREEN LANTERN film. But most people either don't remember that film exists, or try not to.
Either way, AQUAMAN still slated to swim to theaters October 5th, 2018.
