Ninja Turtles reboot to hit theaters in 2023

It was announced last year that Seth Rogen would be teaming up with Nickelodeon for a new CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film that will be directed by Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs the Machines) from a script by Brendon O'Brien (Neighbors: Sorority Rising), and thanks to Seth Rogen, we now know just when the Turtles will be kickin' ass and chompin' pizza — August 11, 2023.

The last time the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles graced the big-screen was in the Michael Bay produced live-action films Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, but as those entries in the franchise didn't exactly strike a chord with fans, I'd imagine that most are ready for a new take on the foursome. In addition to Seth Rogen, the new film will also be produced by Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. Brian Robbins, President of Kids & Family Entertainment for ViacomCBS, said, "Adding Seth, Evan, and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical."

While speaking with Insider last year, Seth Rogen said, "When I look at 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' the teenage part was weirdly what stuck out to me the most. I think one thing we've been pretty consistently good at over the years is creating material about teenagers, from 'Blockers,' 'Good Boys,' and 'Superbad.' That was really what became exciting for us is how do we make a great action-adventure movie that's also a great teenage movie." What are you hoping to see from this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film?
