Teen Wolf revival movie headed to Paramount+

The hit MTV series Teen Wolf is making a comeback. It has been announced that a revival movie is in the works for Paramount+ which serves as a part of an overall deal with series creator Jeff Davis that he signed with MTV Entertainment Studios.

Under the multi-year deal, Davis will write and executive produce the film, with talks currently happening with the original series cast members to return. The news is especially significant because it drops on the four-year anniversary of the original Teen Wolf finale on MTV.

Davis will also develop a new series for Paramount+ based on Edo Van Belkom’s “Wolf Pack” books where he will also serve as showrunner. Lastly, the previously announced Aeon-Flux live-action reboot, on which Davis will also serve as showrunner and pilot director, has moved over to Paramount+ after being set up at MTV.

Teen Wolf ran for six seasons on MTV from 2011-2017 and a total of 100 episodes. The series is loosely based on the 1985 film of the same name and stars Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, a young werewolf who defends his California town from supernatural creatures and other threats. While the film is largely a comedic experience, the series took a more serious approach and became a defining genre program on MTV that generated a pretty loyal fanbase that saw great gains via online viewership. The series also stars Dylan O’Brien, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, and Arden Cho.

Are YOU excited for the Teen Wolf revival movie? In December, the full series will be available to stream on Paramount+.
