RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES had the benefit of very little expecations, especially in the wake of Tim Burton's take on the franchise. That film won audiences over with its portrayel of Caesar (played to perfection by Andy Serkis), the ape who's in charge now in DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. On May 8th, we'll have a better understanding of how the film will look, but for now we're given a teaser for it.
The synopsis is as follows:
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, starring Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Jason Clarke, Judy Greer, Toby Kebbell, and Angela Kerecz, will go bananas in theaters July 11, 2014.
Meanwhile in a galaxy far, far away, we have a teaser for the upcoming animated show, Star Wars: Rebels. The full trailer will hit on May the 4th (they have to leave some surprises for the sacred day), but you can check out some of what the rebellion is up to here:
The show is described as:
An animated TV series set between the events of Episode III and IV, taking place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.
Star Wars: Rebels, which feature the vocal talents of Tiya Sicar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Steve Blum, Taylor Gray, Vanessa Marshall, and Billy Dee Williams (!), will air on Disney XD this fall.
