I’m still trying to grasp the fact that Alex Winter aka Bill from BILL AND TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE is a director now, and even moreso, I’m trying to handle the idea of him directing the remake to the Stephen Dorff classic 80s horror flick THE GATE. But I’m doing what I can, and seems as though the case of High Life sitting next to me is making me feel better about it.
Anyway, a new teaser poster for THE GATE 3D has arrived on the scene, echoing the film’s original poster with one big fat main difference… this one’s in “3D”! Those quotes are there because it’s not really in 3D, but it sorta gives off that effect. Cool… I guess. I mean, if you’re remaking a film you might as well remake all the promotional materials while you’re at it, right?
THE GATE 3D goes a bit like this: Three kids release a horde of demons from a hole in their backyard. What follows is a battle between good and evil as the kids struggle to overcome a hell that is literally taking over the Earth.
Regardless of its remake status, the film definitely warrants the 3D treatment–that is, if they decide to actually shoot it in 3D and not simply convert it after the fact. We shall see about the quality after it hits, I guess.
In the meantime, check out the new teaser poster below, and stick around as we we wait to see when production actually kicks off on this beast!
The original GATE’s Kelly Rowan!
