The mononymous Elias made his feature debut with the very disturbing GUT, a story about a couple of friends and the psychological fallout they experience after watching a snuff video. That movie put him on the map for me as a filmmaker worth following, and he is now gearing up to direct his second movie, AYLA, a.k.a. A., starring AMERICAN MARY’s Tristan Risk in the title role.
The synopsis proves that Elias won’t be straying away from the horrific with this one:
The unexplained death of Elton’s 4-year-old sister Ayla has left him lost and damaged since he was a boy. All throughout adulthood he’s mourned the life with her that could have been.
Born from his need, Elton turns what lived only in mind to flesh and blood once more, a child now reborn with the body of a woman — obsession become flesh. Her name is Ayla, but they used to call her “A.”
Joining Risk in the cast is GUT’s Nicholas Wilder as Elton.
The October People’s Matt Medisch, Jeremy Berg, and John Portanova are producing, with filming planned for the fall in Seattle and surrounding areas.
AYLA will be taking the Kickstarter route to raise some funds, and in anticipation of the campaign’s June 9th launch the below teaser poster has been released:
I’m in. What say you?
