Netflix continues on their path of creating countless binge-worthy original shows with Narcos, a new series which tells the true story of U.S. and Colombian efforts in the 1980s to battle the infamous Pablo Escobar and the Medellin drug cartel, one of the richest, most ruthless criminal organizations in the history of modern crime.
Netflix has released their first trailer for Narcos which tells us very little about the show beyond that it will contain plenty of blood and cocaine. Good enough for me.
Pedro Pascal and Boyd Holbrook will star as real-life DEA Agents Javier Peña and Steve Murphy respectively, while Wagner Moura will fill the role of Pablo Escobar himself. Stephanie Sigman, Luis Guzman, Juan Pablo Raba, Johanna Christie, Manolo Cardona, André Mattos, Ana de la Reguera, and Juan Pablo Raba will round out the rest of the cast.
Entertainment Weekly tossed up a couple of images from the series which includes one of Wagner Moura sporting a smile that will haunt me for the rest of the day. I feel dirty.
Netflix's synopsis for Narcos:
Narcos chronicles the gripping real-life stories of the drug kingpins of the late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It details the conflicting forces – legal, political, police, military and civilian – that clash in an effort to control the world’s most powerful commodity: cocaine.
All ten-episodes of Narcos will hit Netflix on August 28.
