Tick tock… Tick tock…
That motion on the clock can be hynoptic under the right circumstances. However, checking it out in this viral teaser for the next Tim Burton film MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN leaves you wishing you could see something else happen… anything for that matter. It doesn't matter what it is, that would be better than this.
It's all a reference to Loop Day, referring to the time loop that the titular Miss Peregrine's home is stuck in on September 3, 1940. Each day, the clocks reset right before her house is bombed by the Germans. That day was yesterday, and it plays a role in the story told in Ransom Riggs' novel.
There's still a number of months to go before MISS PEREGRINE'S sees a release, but you'd think if they were going to do anything this early to at least attract some sort of attention or build any type of awareness, it would have been a little more exciting than literally watching time fly by.
MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN will be here in no time, March 4, 2016 if we're going to be specific.
