A couple weeks ago, we caught word that Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy, Married… with Children) would be starring in the thriller Tattered Hearts, one of the eight horror and thriller films Blumhouse Productions is making for the Epix premium cable outlet. Now Alexxis Lemire has signed on to join Sagal in the film's cast.
Directed by genre regular Brea Grant (12 Hour Shift) from a screenplay by newcomer Rachel Koller Croft, Tattered Hearts is set in Nashville and will center on
an up-and-coming country music duo who seek out the secluded mansion of their idol, Harper Dutch (Sagal). What starts out as a friendly visit devolves into a twisted series of horrors that force the friends to confront the lengths they’ll go to in order to realize their dreams.
Lemire will be playing Leigh, "the lead vocalist in the aforementioned promising country music duo." Lemire's previous credits include the features The Half of It and Cerebrum, and the TV movies The Other Mother, Truth or Dare, and The Art of Murder.
Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, and Jeremy Gold of Blumhouse Television are executive producing the film alongside John Ierardi.
We now know details on half of the movies that are being made as part of the Blumhouse / Epix deal. The first to go into production was A House on the Bayou, which you can read about at THIS LINK. That has been followed by American Refugee (read about that HERE), Unhuman (the article is HERE), and now Tattered Hearts. A House on the Bayou will premiere on Epix in December. Tattered Hearts will follow sometime in 2022.
I still need to catch up on Blumhouse's Amazon collaboration Welcome to the Blumhouse, but I really enjoyed their Into the Dark series on Hulu, so I'll be giving these Epix movies a chance as well.
