Next year marks the 25th Anniversary of Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott's cult classic horror anthology TALES FROM THE HOOD. And today we've learned that not only is TALES FROM THE HOOD 3 in the works but the movie is all set to begin shooting next month in Winnipeg!
While there is no cast announced at this point in time, this third entry in the cult classic horror anthology series will see writer-directors Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott returning along with executive producer Spike Lee. And on top of all that awesome news, we're also hearing that the movie should be ready for release next year for the original film’s 25th anniversary!
For those of you out there that somehow may have forgotten, we got a sequel to the original movie last year with TALES FROM THE HOOD 2 starring Keith David (THE THING, THEY LIVE) taking over the role of Mr. Simms from the fantastic Clarence Williams III.
The sequel's synopsis went a little something like this:
Buckle up for an anthology of socially conscious horror stories that focus on the perils of racial injustice and the price of ignorance.
TALES FROM THE HOOD 2 was written and directed by Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott and starred Keith David, Bryan Batt, Alexandria DeBerry, Kendrick Cross, Cat Limket, Kedrick Brown, and Andy Cohen. Cundieff and Scott produced the sequel along with Elaine Dysinger, Griff Furst, and Jim Steele. If you haven't seen TALES FROM THE HOOD 2 yet, you can always head on over to Amazon and pick up a copy of the flick on Blu-ray HERE.
