In recent months, we have been releasing several series on the JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel under the Revisited banner. Episodes of Best Horror Movie You Never Saw, The Black Sheep, Deconstructing, Horror Party Movies, Best Foreign Horror Movies, Playing with Fear, Real Slashers, they’re all labeled Revisited on YouTube. A couple weeks ago, we added another series into the mix, this one simply titled Revisited. We got the series started with a look at Chopping Mall, and now the second episode has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above. This time we’re revisiting the 1990 anthology film Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (which you can watch at THIS LINK)!
Directed by John Harrison from a screenplay by George A. Romero and Michael McDowell (which drew inspiration from Arthur Conan Doyle’s Lot No. 249, Stephen King‘s The Cat from Hell, and Lafcadio Hearn’s Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things), Tales from the Darkside: The Movie has the following synopsis:
The first of three dark tales involves resentful student Bellingham looking to an Egyptian mummy for help in settling some scores. Then, hit man Halston is contracted to kill a cat that has terrorized and even killed members of an extremely wealthy family. Lastly, struggling artist Preston witnesses a demon commit a bizarre murder on a city street, but agrees to keep it a secret when the devilish being promises wealth in return for his silence.
The film stars Steve Buscemi, David Johansen (a.k.a. Buster Poindexter), James Remar, Deborah Harry, Christian Slater, William Hickey, Rae Dawn Chong, Matthew Lawrence, and Julianne Moore.
The Tales from the Darkside: The Movie episode of Revisited was Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Lance Vlcek, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
