Taken will live on; prequel series ordered by NBC with Luc Besson producing

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Although Liam Neeson has said that he'd be willing for return for TAKEN 4, it feels like TAKEN 3 was our last look at Liam Neeson as Bryan Mills. However, we may not have seen the last of his character as Deadline reports that NBC has put in a straight-to-series order for a TV series based upon the action franchise.

Taken will be a prequel series set in the modern day and will take inspiration from Liam Neeson's famous line from the first film; "what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career; skills that make me a nightmare for people like you." The new series will delve into just how Bryan Mills acquired that "particular set of skills" and became the character featured in the three TAKEN films. Unlike his film counterpart however, the television version of Bryan Mills will have no wife and no kids; then…who will be taken??

Luc Besson will be producing the series but the search is currently on for a writer/show-runner to handle the heavy lifting. Liam Neeson made such an impression as Bryan Mills that it's a little hard imagining someone else taking on the role, but I suppose we'll be hearing some casting news before too long.

Who do you see taking on the mantle of a young Bryan Mills?
