When it comes to the animated films he has directed, Tim Burton is two for two. THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is now a holiday classic and THE CORPSE BRIDE was a nice follow up. With FRANKENWEENIE, Burton looks to combine his signature stop motion style with his new love of shooting in 3D.

Whether you are a fan of animation or not, you have to admit there is an exceptional amount of work that goes into creating these films. It boggles the mind what these filmmakers and artists must do and how long it takes to create. To showcase the craftsmanship that went into creating FRANKENWEENIE, Disney has released an interactive behind the scenes look at the making of the sets for the film. It is pretty cool to see.

Plot: From creative genius Tim Burton comes FRANKENWEENIE, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life, with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

FRANKENWEENIE opens on October 5, 2012.
