I’ll admit to being a TINTIN neophyte. I know next to nothing about the mythology of the character but I remember one time incurring the wrath of Garth Franklin over at Dark Horizons when I said I wasn’t a fan. I should clarify: it’s not that I’m not a fan, I’m just clueless. I look for that all to change as later this year sees the release of Steven Spielberg’s THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN.
The film boasts a damn impressive pedigree including Mr. Spielberg himself, Peter Jackson producing and a script from Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish (ATTACK THE BLOCK). Just on the basis of that alone, I’d want to see this film.
My only hesitation so far is the mo-cap. Why mo-cap? It seems to me the only reason this film was done in mo-cap was because Spielberg wanted to try it out. And I guess, when you’re Steven Spielberg or Bobby Brown, that’s your prerogative. But I think I’d be far more interested in this as a live-action movie. But that’s just me. Take a look at the trailer below…
