UPDATE – Take this for what it’s worth, but Paramount contacted us with word that the person you see to the left in the photo below isn’t actually Johnny Depp and that Depp doesn’t appear in the movie. *Coughcough*…..
You may have known that Johnny Depp was producing HUGO CABRET, Martin Scorsese’s upcoming foray into 3D and family filmmaking. But did you know that Depp also stars in the film?
French newspaper Le Parisien broke the news last week that Depp filmed an extended cameo in the upcoming film last September. Depp will be playing Monsieur Rouleau, an abstract painter who works outside of the train station and helps Hugo and Isabelle on their mission. It’s not a huge part – Depp filmed about seven scenes of varying lengths over the course of a week – but one that makes fair use of the actor’s existing goatee. Check out the first photo below of Depp in action and get ready for HUGO CABRET in theaters this holiday season.
HUGO CABRET follows a 12-year-old boy living in a train station at the turn of the 20th century. His father, a museum curator, dies but not before showing him his latest discovery – a robot sitting at a desk waiting to deliver an important message, if only they could turn him on. The young boy becomes obsessed with solving the mystery in his father’s memory to find out the robot’s secret.
