Takashi Shimizu to step into the rabbit hole and film Rabbit Horror in 3D!

Anyone catch Takashi Shimizu’s latest effort on filming in 3D? No? Well you didn’t miss much. Shimizu (THE GRUDGE) tried his hand and broke with SHOCK LABYRINTH. Maybe the the 3D medium’s not for everyone.

If you are a fan of the flick, or if you’re still eagerly awaiting Shimizu’s next go, then wait no more. Shimizu is currently filming his latest horror in 3D! Again. Don’t try too hard to get excited folks. This time Shimizu is gathering his asian kin-folk which consists of Mitsushima Hikari, Kagawa Teruyuki, Omori Nao and Ogawa Tamaki for RABBIT HORROR 3D!

Say what?

Yes, RABBIT HORROR 3D. The film is (another fi) inspired by with the whole ALICE IN WONDERLAND theme. The story mainly focuses on a stuffed rabbit from an alternate world. It tells the story of Mitsushima’s brother, who is sent to the alternate world after receiving the rabbit. To retrieve her brother, Mitsushima’s character will unravel the secret behind the animal. Now take all of that and add the word “in 3D” to the end of it. Sound good? Need more time to soak it in? Likewise.

If you’re going apeshit over this then you can stop beating the drum for a while. The director is currently be filmed by using Panasonic’s dual-lens AG-3DA1 camera with Christian Doyle as the head  cinematographer. Groovy. Filming is expected to stop finish filming on September 8th as it looks for a 2011 release in Japan. In Japan usually means we aren’t likely to see it in the states until a little while after that. Sorry Shimizu fans. However, if you’re heading towards the Venice Films Festival then there’s a good chance you’ll hit up a seat to see the puppy yourself. Shimizu is planning to showcase some of the footage there during a 3D competition where he’ll be heading the event’s jury.
