Audiences around the world were left with jaws dropped when Thor (Chris Hemsworth) showed up in AVENGERS: ENDGAME – five years after Thanos’ snap – with the bushiest of beards and the mightiest of beer bellies. The character’s new look left him dubbed by the internet as “Fat Thor” and “Bro Thor”, and by the end of the movie, the character was blasting off with the Guardians of the Galaxy with the look firmly intact, trading out his Asgardian duds for casual sweaters and baggy clothes. Come his newest adventure, THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER, he could very easily look the same way, but writer/director Taika Waititi said Thor’s look is still something that’s still up in the air.

Waititi is answering as many THOR questions that are thrown at him while on the press trail for his new movie JOJO RABBIT (in theaters today), and while with Yahoo! Entertainment, confirmed he’s written the script for the new movie. But, of course, the big follow-up is if Bro Thor will make it to the final version.
"This is an ongoing debate that we're still having at Marvel. 'Cause we're trying to figure out how long — how many months or years — this is after Endgame, at what point does this take place?”

While nothing seems to be solidified just yet, Waititi hints Thor’s look will indeed be changed up from the last time we saw him. “I think we always want to keep changing it up with Thor. He's so interesting when he's changing all the time."
This comes after Waititi has spoken about several elements of THOR 4, such as the possible inclusion of the breast cancer storyline for Jane Foster's Thor (Natalie Portman). While that aspect and Bro Thor are still up in the air, Waititi did confirm that his lovable character Korg will be back for the fourquel, which is really all he details we need.
As for what the director said above, it does seem like we can expect Thor to undergo another change come LOVE AND THUNDER. It's not all that uncommon for superhero movies to switch things up for their heroes with new installments (new costume, new hairdo, new hat or something, etc.), Thor's case is a bit more unique. He could be bigger, smaller, have a shorter beard or no hair at all. We won't really know for more than a year, but we will all surely love Thor no matter what he looks like. Maybe get a haircut, though.
THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER is in theaters on November 5, 2021, and you can see Waititi's JOJO RABBIT in theaters now.
