Taika Waititi clarifies GOTG/Thor: Ragnarok continuity error

Were you one of the many Marvel fans who was left feeling a tad confused as to why the Sakaarians in Taika Waititi's THOR: RAGNAROK looked quite different from the ones featured in James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY? You are? Well then, I've got some joyous news for you, my friend. Yesterday, Waititi himself jokingly clarified the reason that there was a visible difference in how Marvel's insectoid soldiers of the Kree Empire were portrayed in the two different films.

You can see Waititi's explanation below:

While still taking Waititi's words as nothing more than a clever jest, it does stand to reason that select members of the Sakaarian race are perhaps just a bit more fashionable than their drab-colored brethren. Think about it, which would you rather do: March into battle while wearing recycled, tarnished metal, or turn that shit inside-out and enter the fray looking fabulous? While the flamboyant colors might make you more of a target, there's no crime in looking fly as you plunge head-long into the jaws of certain death. I say we let the Sakaarians where whatever they like, and be thankful for the bright colors that make for easier targeting when things get heated on the battlefield.

THOR: RAGNAROK starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Mark Ruffalo, and Karl Urban is in theaters now!
