Based on actual events, The Grey Zone is Tim Blake Nelson’s film version of his play about Auschwitz’s 12th Sonderkommando � one of the 13 “Special Squads” of Jewish prisoners placed by the Nazis in the excruciating moral dilemma of helping to exterminate fellow Jews in exchange for a few more months of life.
