The film takes place on Halloween night of 1977 and David plays fictional talk show host Jack Delroy, who is a rival to Johnny Carson and struggling for ratings following the tragic death of his wife. Most of the story unfolds in real-time as Jack hosts that night‘s show and in desperate hopes of making it an episode to remember, things slowly go terribly wrong… leading to evil being unleashed into the nation’s living rooms.
