And here I was just thinking the other day that the whole 3D craze had finally died down.
I don't tend to mind 3D. You know, I have seen my fair share of 3D flicks in the theater and mostly enjoy them when there isn't some sh*t-head kid behind me talking like this was the goddamn mall. What I don't like is watching those films later and noticing all the parts where sh*t flies at the screen and stuck sitting there at home like an asshole thinking that must'a been cool in the theater.
Anyways, T2 is now getting the 3D treatment. How do I feel about this? I'm all good, considering the film has already been something I told my buddies as a kid, "Can you imagine if this sh*t was in 3D?!" I'm sure you have said the same at some point. Careful what you wish for sometimes huh?
T2:3D synopsis:
It has been 10 years since the events of Terminator. Sarah Connor’s ordeal is only just beginning as she struggles to protect her son John, the future leader of the human resistance against the machines, from a new Terminator, sent back in time to eliminate John Connor while he’s still a child.
Sarah and John don’t have to face this terrifying threat alone however. The human resistance have managed to send them an ally, a warrior from the future ordered to protect John Connor at any cost.
The battle for tomorrow has begun….
The press release states that the new 3D version of the film has been converted in immersive 3D by Cameron himself which, as long as James Cameron has had his perfectionist hands in the TERMINATOR pie, I'm there because we know we are in good hands.
The TERMINATOR sequel first hit screens in 1991, and at the time the effects were groundbreaking. Supposedly the point of the 3D version is to "take the seminal blockbuster to the next level of effects and into the 21st century for the next generation of fans."
Right on. Sounds like a plan to me.
Being that it is only March right now, I have not yet indulged in my annual viewing of T2. I just might have to wait until August now and see this version. Maybe… Maybe meaning I might wait to watch the flick again. Maybe I'll watch that sh*t right after I post this. But I will definitely check out this 3D version.
