We're exactly one month out from the release of RAMBO: LAST BLOOD, and star Sylvester Stallone has marked the occasion by sharing a new trailer for the film on his Instagram. That means the trailer is cropped, so hopefully we'll be seeing a YouTube release that shows the whole picture very soon.
Directed by Adrian Grunberg from a screenplay Stallone wrote with Matt Cirulnick, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD finds
Rambo, who has been working on a ranch, crossing the U.S./Mexico border to help find the kidnapped daughter of one of his close friends. He quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.
Stallone's co-stars include Adriana Barraza as Rambo's friend Maria; Yvette Monreal as Maria's granddaughter Gabrielle; Sergio Peris-Mencheta as villainous cartel leader Hugo Martinez; Óscar Jaenada as Victor Martinez; Paz Vega as Carmen Delgado, "a reporter who covers the Mexican drug trade and teams up with Rambo after her younger half-sister is kidnapped"; and Joaquin Cosio in an unspecified role.
The idea of Rambo taking on Mexican cartels goes back to even before the production of 2008's RAMBO, so I'm glad Stallone finally got around to telling the story – especially since it looked like he might retire from playing the character before this film could happen. Thankfully, he realized that he couldn't tease us with the possibility of this concept and then not deliver it.
RAMBO: LAST BLOOD is scheduled to reach theatres on September 20th, and I can't wait to see it.
