SyFy’s latest epic Arachnoquake will be coming at us next year and will star Edward Furlong and Tracey Gold

I have pretty much given up trying to make sense of anything that has SyFy attached to it. I am not really in the camp that enjoys the films they put out, of the ones I have seen they either try to be some what decent or attempt to be ‘so bad they are good’ and fail miserably every time. They really are in a league of their own, and their latest announced flick seems no different. ARACHNOQUAKE is the newest of their films to wrap production and will likely be released sometime next year.

The film has one thing going for it, its amazingly random cast! I can’t believe all these people are in a film together; I mean really I had forgotten these people even existed! We’ve got Edward Furlong (is this a step up or down from Uwe Boll?), GROWING PAINS star Tracey Lords, STAR TREK: VOYAGER’S Ethan Philips and Bug Hall who starred as Alfalfa in the 1994 LITTLE RASCALS remake. See I wasn’t lying when I said it was random! The film comes to us from Griff Furst who helmed LAKE PLACID 3 and SWAMP SHARK. He also does his fair share of acting, with small roles in random films.

The film sounds absolutely ridiculous and you’d expect nothing less coming from SyFy. Check out this synopsis: In Arachnoquake massive earthquakes unleash giant albino spiders. Freed from their ancient subterranean prison, the spiders go on a murderous rampage through New Orleans.

Giant albino spiders rampaging through New Orleans, not sure I can quite picture that. I guess we’ll find out soon enough how this film holds up; we’ll be keeping an eye out for a release date.
