The cast of SyFy's "12 Monkeys" continues to grow as THR reports, Kirk Acevedo (above) has boarded the NBCUniversal-owned cable network's "12 Monkeys" drama pilot which is based on Terry Gilliam's feature film of the same name that starred Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, the drama centers on a time traveler from the post-apocalyptic future who appears in the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race.
As for Acevedo's character, he will play Ramse, Cole's (Aaron Stanford) closest friend in the apocalyptic future. He's clever and fiercely loyal and helped Cole survive the destruction of civilization. While Cole travels through time, Ramse proves critical to the survival of the team that makes it possible.
Aaron Stanford (THE HILLS HAVE EYES) and Amanda Schull ("One Tree Hill") are the project’s two leads. Željko Ivanek ("Damages," "Oz," "24") and Noah Bean also star. The 60-minute Syfy pilot is being produced by Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment. Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett ("Terra Nova," "Nikita") wrote the pilot script and are serving as co-executive producers.
