I'm not going to lie, when I was an edgelord-y kid, Image's SPAWN was always my favorite superhero. Hell, I still think he holds up a lot better than most EXXXTREME 90's-era heroes (including many of the other OG Image Comics characters that came up around the same time), and I won't deny there's some residual nostalgic affection I still have for the character (I mean, I even have fond memories of the so-bad-it's-good 1997 feature film…)
Meaning, I'm the exact target audience for SYFY's upcoming documentary LIKE HELL about SPAWN creator (and founder of Image Comics) Todd McFarlane, which just released a new trailer! Here's the official synopsis:
Todd McFarlane: Like Hell I Won't details the legendary comic book artist and entrepreneur's obstacle-ridden career leading up to the milestone release of the 300th issue of Spawn – McFarlane's hit horror-fantasy series.
Meanwhile, LIKE HELL will premiere Saturday, July 25th at 11/10c on SYFY!
So what do you guys think? Fans of SPAWN and McFarlane? If so, going to watch his documentary? Either way, sound off below!
