Syfy producing Monster Man reality show with Cleve Hall

Syfy gets a lot of flack for the original movies, but they have some cool programing as well. Their reality selection is pretty solid, with “GHOST HUNTERS” being a staple and “FACE OFF” becoming a hit last season. Syfy has now greenlit a new reality series entitled “MONSTER MAN.”

The show will focus on prop builder/special effects designer Cleve Hall (above) and his family, who help run his business. Hall has worked on such films as PEE-WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE, ED WOOD, RE-ANIMATOR, GHOULIES, TROLL, TERRORVISION and more. He has also worked with bands including Kiss, Devo and Tenacious D.

When Hollywood studios want a bizarre creature, monster prop or out-of-this world alien, they turn to Cleve Hall and his very unique, family business. This series goes behind the scenes of Cleve’s workshop, where the craziness of this fun family is matched only by the insane monsters they build.

The series will begin shooting this month in Los Angeles. Six hour-long episodes have been ordered for a tentative January 2012 premiere on Syfy.
