Syfy gives Krypton the axe after 2 seasons & passes on Lobo spin-off

Krypton, TV, Syfy, cancelled

Taking place hundreds of years before the birth of Superman, Krypton followed Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), better known as Superman's grandfather, as he fought to redeem his family's honour and save his world from chaos. Unfortunately, it seems that Seg-El's tale has come to an end as it's been announced that Syfy has cancelled the series.

The second season wrapped up just days ago, but as the entire season has averaged a total of only 408,000 same-day viewers (down from 1.8 million from the first season), you can understand why the network elected to give the series the kryptonite axe. The cancellation comes with another casualty as Syfy has also passed on the pilot for Lobo, the Krypton spin-off which would have focused on rough-and-tumble assassin/bounty hunter. Played by Emmett J. Scanlan, Lobo "is from the peaceful planet of Czarnia. He was born a devil in the midst of utopia. Loosely translated from his native language, his name means 'he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it.' As a teenager, Lobo single-handedly slaughtered his entire civilization, becoming the last of his race. Now the mercenary roams the universe on his motorcycle, getting paid for what he loves most: murder and mayhem." All is not entirely lost however as the producers are looking at shopping the Lobo project to other outlets.

Any Krypton fans out there mourning the premature death of the series?
