We may think that Hollywood is completely devoid of original movie ideas these days, but let’s not forget how desperate TV is as well.
THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU was a pleasant sci-fi surprise, but I never really imagined it would be ripe material for a TV show. But Sci-fi (sorry “SyFy”) disagrees, which is why they’ve greenlit a new series based on the film, which was adapted from a Phillip K. Dick short story.
Not much is known about the project yet, except that Smallville producers Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin are writing it.
Can you picture what this show would be like? Would it follow one person or group meddling with the Bureau, or would it be more of a procedural, following a Bureau member getting involved in various people’s lives? And above all, is this in any way a good idea?
