Earlier today SXSW announced their Midnighters selection made up of thrillers, sci-fi and dark comedies from a mix of new and veteran filmmakers, and now we have two teaser trailers for a couple of films that promise to leave a big impression on the festival. First up, DEATHGASM. This one looks like pure adrenaline-fueled entertainment with a heavy metal twist as a couple of kids accidentally summon a few demons. This looks awesome, simple as that.
DEATHGASM is about:
New kid in town Brodie and bad-boy Zakk quickly bond over their mutual admiration of heavy metal. But when these two metal thrashing losers unwittingly summon malevolent forces, their dreams of stardom may just have to be put on hold.
It was directed by Jason Lei Howden and stars Milo Cawthorne, James Blake, Kimberley Crossman and Stephen Ure.
Next up is the trailer for WE ARE STILL HERE, offering a brooding first look at the Barbara Crampton-starring psychological thriller. The trailer moves slow and calculated, building up the terrors that await in a house that makes a sacrifice every 30 years. Dig it!
In WE ARE STILL HERE:
In the cold, winter fields of New England, there sits a house that wakes up every 30 years and demands a sacrifice.
Directed by Ted Geoghegan, the film also stars Andrew Sensenig, Larry Fesseden, Lisa Marie and Monte Markham.
