Swiss Army Man directors want to remake White Chicks as an R-rated drama

If watching the Wayans brothers slathered in terrifying prosthetics and fake breasts in WHITE CHICKS makes you imagine the R-rated drama that could have been, you're not alone. Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan, directors of SWISS ARMY MAN, spoke with THR recently about their upcoming film and the pair was asked about any dream projects, to which Scheinert responded with:

Oh! One of my dreams is to make White Chicks as a hard-R, Oscar-worthy drama, starring the original cast. It would be about gender and race relations in the 21st century, starring the Wayans Brothers. I don't know if you have seen White Chicks lately, but it has a lot of meat to it and explores everything, like class, gender, race, the handicapped, age.

Kwan then added, "but it explores it in the worst way possible." Although wanting to scrub it from the face of the Earth is likely the reaction which most people had to WHITE CHICKS, I have to admit, re-imagining it as a "hard-R, Oscar-worthy drama" is exactly the short of craziness which could work. Would it ever happen? Likely not, but it's fun (probably the wrong word) to imagine, so long as you leave the lights on and check under the bed.

SWISS ARMY MAN will see a wide release on July 1, 2016, so make sure to read the Sundance review from our own own Chris Bumbray!

On second thought, maybe not. Send it back from whence it came!
