S.W.A.T. renewed for season 6 at CBS

One of CBS’ on the bubble shows has finally earned a renewal. It has been announced that S.W.A.T. has been renewed for a season 6 at the network.

Series lead Shemar Moore announced the good news for fans on Twitter. The series now joins NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: Hawai’i, Bob Hearts Abishola, The Neighborhood, Young Sheldon, Ghosts, and CSI: Vegas as the scripted shows CBS has thus far renewed for the 2022-23 TV season. You can check out Shemar Moore’s Twitter below follow by the confirmation on the CBS Twitter page:

Per Deadline, S.W.A.T. is averaging 6.6 million total viewers and a 0.8 demo rating (with Live+7 DVR playback), ranking 12th and ninth out of the 14 dramas CBS has aired this TV season. This is also good news for the series as it celebrated its 100th episode on Sunday. The show, which follows a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. sergeant and his team of highly-trained men and women as they solve crimes in Los Angeles, has been on the bubble its last couple of seasons but a loyal fanbase allows it to survive. I also think the series streaming on Paramount+ has helped maintain consistent viewership as well.

Also starring Alex Russell, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, Peter Onorati, Jay Harrington, David Lim, Patrick St. Espirit, and Amy Farrington, S.W.A.T. is currently still airing its fifth season which is expected to wrap up in May.

Are YOU excited to see S.W.A.T. return for season 6?
