Swamp Thing trailer brings the horror!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Recently, we passed along word that Warner Bros put a halt to the production of DC Universe's SWAMP THING series and would be putting out a 10 episode first season instead of the originally planned 13 episodes. But that news was all good and yesterday we shared a series of new promo posters for the upcoming series which give us our first real look at Derek Mears as the thing from the swamp. Check those out HERE.

And today we have the show's horror-filled trailer! Looks like John Carpenter's THE THING meets Adam Green's HATCHET to me. Check it out below!

Len Wiseman directs the new series from a script by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman. The cast includes Andy Bean as biologist Alec Holland and Crystal Reed as CDC Doctor Abby Arcane. Here's the rundown for the new series:

Abby Arcane investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.

Bean and Reed star in this new series along with Maria Sten, Jeryl Prescott, Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Will Patton, Henderson Wade, Ian Ziering, and Kevin Durand, with Derek Mears as Swamp Thing himself. James Wan's company Atomic Monster is producing Swamp Thing in association with Warner Bros. Television. Wan, Wiseman, Verheiden, and Dauberman also serve as executive producers on the series with Michael Clear. Rob Hackett is co-producer. Swamp Thing will be unleashed through the DC Universe streaming service beginning on May 31st.
