Suspiria to dance into a 4K restoration for its 40th anniversary

As if to make up for the fact that a remake is currently in production, SUSPIRIA is the latest in a long line of classic horror titles to get a 4K restoration.

Dario Argento's hallucinatory 1977 gem has been painstakingly remastered by the German TLEFilms and will be released by Videa and QMI, who will be running their restoration in Italian theaters from January 30th to February 1st, the film's original release date. Presumably, it will hit other territories at some point, but no announcement has been made.

Says Argento: “I can’t wait to see it at the movies again with all the young people who will see it for the first time.”

In SUSPIRIA:

Suzy travels to Germany to attend ballet school. When she arrives, late on a stormy night, no one lets her in, and she sees Pat, another student, fleeing from the school. When Pat reaches her apartment, she is murdered. The next day, Suzy is admitted to her new school, but has a difficult time settling in. She hears noises, and often feels ill. As more people die, Suzy uncovers the terrifying secret history of the place.

SUSPIRIA stars Jessica Harper, Eva Axén, Stefania Casini, and Flavio Bucci.
