Supernatural thriller Blackwood begins shooting, details here

We have a new supernatural thriller to introduce you to today, the very day principal photography commences on the British chiller. The flick is called BLACKWOOD, the first feature from writer/director Adam Wimpenny. Ed Stoppard and Sophia Myles play the two leads in the Wildcard Films production.

Co-written by Joe Hill (not Stephen King’s son, as far as I can tell):

BLACKWOOD centers on a history professor and his wife who move to a large country house, Blackwood, with their eight year old son (Isaac Andrews). The husband has visions of a masked boy, and starts investigating a mysterious disappearance that may involve a war veteran (Russell Tovey). The family’s life gets further complicated with the arrival of an old friend (Greg Wise) and his beautiful girlfriend (Joanna Vanderham).

Sounds like a nifty twist on the old haunted house subgenre. No telling the size and scope of the flick, but those cheeky Brits always bring the atmosphere if nothing else. So consider us pumped!
