Uma Thurman will join the cast of Showtime’s Super Pumped series as Arianna Huffington, The Huffington Post co-founder and Uber board member. The Super Pumped anthology series hails from Billions co-creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien. Set to appear alongside Thurman for the first chapter in the series are Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kyle Chandler.

Based on the best-selling book Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber by Mike Isaac, Deadline states that Showtime’s Super Pumped series tells the story of the ride-sharing company that stands out as both a marvel and a cautionary tale, featuring internal and external battles that ripple with unpredictable consequences.

Pivoting on Travis Kalanick (Gordon-Levitt), Uber’s hard-charging CEO who ultimately was ousted in a boardroom coup, the series will depict the roller-coaster ride of the upstart transportation company, embodying the highs and lows of Silicon Valley.

Joining the aforementioned trio of Thurman, Gordon-Levitt, and Chandler for Super Pumped are Elisabeth Shue, Kerry Bishé, Jon Bass, Bridget Gao Hollitt, and Babak Tafti.

As for the rest of the Super Pumped series, each installment will explore a story that turned the business world on its head. When you consider how many companies have changed the way they operate due to bombshell reveals and whistle-blowing tell-alls, this should be an interesting journey. Koppelman, Levien and Beth Schacter executive produce, write and serve as showrunners.

Thurman is famously known for her roles in several Quentin Tarantino projects including Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill. Recently, she wrapped filming on Hollywood Stargirl for director Julia Hart. In Hollywood Stargirl, Stargirl Caraway journeys out of Mica into a bigger world of music, dreams, and possibility. Thurman plays Roxanne Martel in the film, which also stars Judy Greer, Judd Hirsch, and Sarayu Blue. Thurman is also filming the AppleTV+ series Suspicion. The series revolves around the kidnapping of the son of a prominent American businesswoman and also stars Elyes Gabel, Elizabeth Henstridge, Kunal Nayyar, Ross McCall, and Alex Heath.
