HBO previously revealed that their critically acclaimed family drama, Succession, would be returning for its third season in October but an exact date wasn’t attached to the announcement. Now, with the release of new key art for the series, we now know what day fans will be reunited with the Roy family.
Season 3 of Succession will premiere on October 17, 2021, and that makes it close to the two-year anniversary of the airdate of the season 2 finale. The news was revealed on new key art for the series a tagline that reads “Make Your Move.” You can check out the new key art below!
Along with the key art, HBO has also released an official logline for the upcoming season that reads, “Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall at the end of Season two, Logan Roy begins Season 3 in a perilous position, scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances. Tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war.” Certainly sounds like season 3 will be full of drama.
Succession follows the Roy family, who are known for controlling the biggest media and entertainment company in the world. However, their world changes when their father steps down from the company. The series stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, and J. Smith-Cameron. New cast additions for season three include Adrien Brody, Alexander Skarsgård, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond, Jihae Kim, Hope Davis, Dasha Nekrasova, and Ella Rumpf. Season 3 of Succession suffered several production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The third season finally began filming in New York City in the fall of 2020.
