Just when you thought Amazon and Neil Gaiman's GOOD OMENS couldn't get any better – after having recently cast Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of Satan – it's been announced that SUCCESSION star Brian Cox is joining the highly-anticipated project as the voice of Death. Gaiman revealed the casting on Tuesday afternoon via Twitter, alongside a bone-chilling graphic of Death itself with the words "The dark angel shall own defeat: Prophecy 3017" serving as a warning to potential viewers.
While we're on the topic of Death and Satan, this feels like as good a time as any to remind you all that Frances McDormand will arrive as the voice of God for the adaptation of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's celebrated novel. Starring alongside the aforementioned actors, in the flesh, will be actors David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, Adria Arjona, Michael McKean, Anna Maxwell Martin, and Mireille Enos.
Set in 2018, the series will follow the demon Crowley (Tennant) and the angel Aziraphale (Sheen), who, being accustomed to life on Earth, seek to prevent the coming of the antichrist and with it the final battle between Heaven and Hell.
The series is said to combine humor and horror to blasphemous results, with the "Odd Couple" pairing of Tennant and Sheen serving as our guides for the oncoming apocalypse. GOOD OMENS is set to launch via Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories on May 31, with plans to host the show on BBC Two later in the year.
