Subject To Change: Trippy new series from J.J. Abrams a go at HBO Max

HBO Max has ordered Subject to Change, an original story from J.J. Abrams, with Jennifer Yale serving as executive producer and showrunner.

The series follows a desperate college student who signs up for a clinical trial that begins a wild, harrowing, mind and reality-bending adventure. Subject to Change is produced by Bad Robot in association with Warner Bros. Television. J.J. Abrams and showrunner Jennifer Yale serve as executive producers, along with Bad Robot’s Ben Stephenson. Bad Robot’s Rachel Rusch Rich is co-executive producer.

"We cannot wait to bring this complex, eye-opening thriller to HBO Max. It will take viewers on an unexpected ride, showcasing the creative brilliance of J.J., Jennifer, and the Bad Robot team," said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max.

Now partnering with HBO Max to make it a reality is a dream.”

While we're all quite familiar with Abrams's work from Lost to Star Trek, Star Wars, Super 8, and Alias, let's take a moment to familiarize ourselves with Yale's library of content. In addition to serving as a writer and executive producer for the Apple TV+ series See, her credits also include projects like Starz’s Da Vinci’s Demons, WGN’s Underground, FX’s Legion, Starz’s Outlander, and Netflix’s Chambers.
