Cool Horror Gear: Stranger Things sure plays a mean pinball

UPDATE: The pinball machine has officially been announced by Stern Pinball, who apparently has been building these pinball machines "in secret" over the past few weeks, so if you wanna purchase one today, you can! Also, there is a streaming "reveal" of the gameplay tonight at Twitch's DEADFLIP channel, around 7pm est.

A few weeks back we passed along word that while ELVIRA won't be getting a revival series any time soon, at least the Mistress of the Dark just got a new pinball game dubbed ELVIRA: HOUSE OF HORRORS. And today it looks like Netflix's STRANGER THINGS is the next up to play a mean pinball.

One of the cooler features is that at any point the game can flip into the upside-down. And once in the upside-down mode, you have to make specific shots before you switch back to the real world. You never know when it’s going to happen but you can score big when it does if you make the shots.

On top of that, the game features clips and audio from seasons 1 & 2, the main theme music everyone knows from the show, as well as over 20 tracks inspired by the music from STRANGER THINGS created by Ken Hale. The playfield is designed by Brian Eddy (Medieval Madness and Attack From Mars) and comes in three distinct art packages: Limited Edition, Premium, and Pro models.

Zachary Sharpe, Director of Marketing at Stern says:

Brian Eddy designed the playfield and vision for the game, Lonnie Ropp led the code and rule design and Mike Vinikour helped out on rules design and balance. The three of them battled it out (in a good way) to get the best rule set to make the game fun for all players. Bob Stevlic did the custom art package for every model of the game. But it was really a whole team at Stern Pinball of mechanical engineers, programmers, video artists, musicians, and art support that made the game possible.

STRANGER THINGS pinball is available now. The Pro Model has an MSRP of $6,099, the Premium $7,699, and the Limited Edition Model $9,099. The Limited Edition STRANGER THINGS machine is limited to 500 units. Check out the video up top and a bunch of pics below.
