While we haven't heard exactly when the upcoming third season of Netflix's nostalgia series STRANGER THINGS will be premiering on the streaming giant, we know season three is currently in production so it shouldn't be long before we hear more.
Until then, today we have a bit of new info regarding the direction of the summer of 1985-set STRANGER THINGS 3. The new info comes to us via Will Byers himself Noah Schnapp, who recently sat down with THR to tease the upcoming season and which character will be playing a bigger part.
Noah Schnapp:
It’s very different this season because it’s in the summer, so you kind of get to see a different version of everyone. It’s great because it has a lot of the dark parts from season two and a lot of the light, playful parts from season one.
Schnapp also says Lucas’ little sister Erica (Priah Ferguson) will be teaming up with a series regular for a bigger part this new season as well:
She definitely has a bigger part this season, and she kind of has her own storyline with someone from the cast.
And finally, Schnapp talked a bit about what it's like working with his on-set mother, played by semi-scream queen Winona Ryder:
First of all, she’s amazing to work with. I love her, and she’s the best. She’s so kind to me and everyone, and whenever I need help with a scene or anything, she’ll always be like, ‘Can I help you? Let’s talk about the scene.' It’s so great getting to work with a good actor, because it just makes the job so much easier when you get to work off of someone who’s really good.
Ryder and Schnapp's co-stars include David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Cara Buono, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, Sadie Sink, Sean Astin, and Paul Reiser.
I'm glad Schnapp has such respect for Ryder and I'm super excited to hear that Lucas' little sister will have a larger role this season. As long as we get less Eleven (I know, I know, hate me all you want) I'm fine with whatever the series throws our way next year-ish. Again, we don't know for sure when the third season of Netflix's STRANGER THINGS will be hitting, but until we do, you can always go re-binge-watch seasons one and two over on Netflix.
