Stowaway: First look at Toni Collette and Anna Kendrick in Netflix thriller

Everyone knows that traveling to the outer reaches of space requires years of training and nerves of steel, but what happens when nothing goes according to plan? What if the one thing you failed to develop a contingency for threatens you and your crew? We're about to find out when Netflix's Stowaway launches on April 22, 2021.

Netflix has debuted first look images for its science-fiction thriller Stowaway, starring Toni Collette (Hereditary, Little Miss Sunshine), Anna Kendrick (Into the Woods, Pitch Perfect), Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Always Be My Maybe), and Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp, Goliath). Each image features the characters diligently working to stay afloat or taking a siesta while gazing at the cosmos.

Per Netflix, here's the official logline for Stowaway:

On a mission headed to Mars, an unintended stowaway accidentally causes severe damage to the spaceship’s life support systems. Facing dwindling resources and a potentially fatal outcome, the crew is forced to make an impossible decision.

Stowaway is directed and co-written by Joe Penna (Arctic, Release) and Ryan Morrison (Arctic, Release). As to who or what the "unintended stowaway" is, I have no idea. Is it a person? I'm not sure how that would work. Maybe it's an alien lifeform or virus? We'll have to wait to find out, but with a solid cast and gorgeous first look images to tease us, I'll be following this release for sure. I'm a sucker for high-tension space thrillers.
