I don’t know about you guys, but clowns freak my sh*t out. This is why I can’t seem to stay away from coulrophobic movies. KILLERS KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE, Stephen King’s IT, and CLOWNHOUSE are all films that give me the willies. Hopefully I can add Irish comedian Ross Noble’s horror vehicle, STITCHES, to that list next year.
The acclaimed comedy slasher hits shelves February the 19th courtesy of Dark Sky and MPI. Noble makes his cinema debut as the titular killer clown who is out to exact revenge on the teenagers responsible for his death. The plot of STITCHES doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel or anything, but should serve up some hi-lariously conceived creepy clown kills.
The film is directed by Connor McMahon (DEAD MEAT) and also stars Tommy Knight and Gemma-Leah Devereux. Check out the red band trailer, synopsis, and Blu-ray artwork below (it’s Region 2 but gives you a good idea of what to expect). While you’re at it, feel free to secure your copy before February 19th rolls around.
Jaded Richard Grindle is the sleaziest clown working the children’s party circuit in Ireland. Arriving late to one birthday, his timing is off, the bratty kids a nightmare and a prank goes horribly wrong – he falls on a kitchen knife and goes to that Big Top in the sky. Years later the same nasty kids attend another more grown up bash. Little do they know, thanks to a black magic clown cult, Stitches will be the uninvited guest of honour seeking revenge on those responsible for his untimely death.
