Earlier this year, director Steven Soderbergh teamed with Bleecker Street for the distribution of his crime comedy LOGAN LUCKY. The filmmaker and distributor will be working together again on a wide theatrical release of Soderbergh's latest project, a thriller titled UNSANE… which was reportedly shot on an iPhone.
Written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, UNSANE stars Claire Foy, Joshua Leonard, Jay Pharaoh, Juno Temple, Aimee Mullins, and Amy Irving in the story of
a young woman (Foy) who is involuntarily committed to a mental institution where she is confronted by her greatest fear — but is it real or is it a product of her delusion?
Bleecker Street and Soderbergh's Fingerprint Releasing have scheduled UNSANE for a March 23rd domestic release.
New Regency has the international rights and will be releasing the film through 20th Century Fox International in all territories outside of the U.S.
I'm always interested in checking out anything Soderbergh does, and the fact that he has made a thriller with this cast has me looking forward to this one even more. I'm also intrigued to see the imagery he was able to capture with the iPhone.
