Steven Knight to write the World War Z sequel

Wow, for a second there I forgot all about the sequel to WORLD WAR Z! Well guess what? Today the sequel made a little bit of movement as Variety reports that the Oscar-nominated scribe Steven Knight has been tapped to write Paramount and Skydance's sequel to WORLD WAR Z.

And that’s about it… I know it’s not much, but it’s nice to know that this one is still alive and well. THE ORPHANAGE’s J.A. Bayona is still on board to direct, which is pretty exciting because his talents behind an epic, big budget zombie flick should be both awesome and plenty horrific—definitely excited about this one!

While there are still no details on the plot, it is said to continue the story of Max Brooks’ popular novel. With a writer now officially hired, I’d say we’ll be hearing plenty more from this one soon enough. Brad Pitt will produce the apocalyptic tentpole alongside Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner for Plan B. Look for more soon!
