We've been hearing quite a lot about Sterling K. Brown lately, and rightly so, the dude is quite talented and I suspect that he'll be taking off in a big way over the next few years. Production on Shane Black's upcoming sequel to PREDATOR is slated to get underway late next month, but in the meantime, Black is still busy assembling a great group of actors, which, according to THR, will include Sterling K. Brown.
The outlet reports that Sterling K. Brown (The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story) is currently in negotiations to join the cast of THE PREDATOR alongside Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes and Keegan-Michael Key. Should the deal go through, Brown would play "a government agent who jails Holbrook’s ex-Marine character, but later needs his help with the Predators." That's right, Predators. THR states that Black's film will contain "many" of the fearsome hunters, not just one. They also continue to place the setting to THE PREDATOR in suburbia, despite the denials of Shane Black. Sterling K. Brown was recently nominated for a Golden Globe and took home an Emmy Award for his work on American Crime Story, and he has some big projects on the horizon, including appearing in Ryan Coogler's BLACK PANTHER as N'Jobu, "a figure from T’Challa aka Black Panther’s past." He also threw his hat in the ring for the role of John Stewart in GREEN LANTERN CORPS.
THE PREDATOR is currently set for a February 9, 2018 release.
