Stephen King told Entertainment Weekly that he is in early negotiations to write an episode of THE WALKING DEAD. Yeah I know, just one episode, but hey that’s still cool in my book!
King says that Frank Darabont has, “expressed enthusiastic interest for season 2 or possibly 3.” Darabont has directed three big screen films adapted from stories of King: THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, THE GREEN MILE, and THE MIST (2007). It’s also noteworthy to mention that one of Darabont’s first films was a short adaptation of King’s THE WOMAN IN THE ROOM. So it should come as no surprise that Darabont is interested in King writing an episode, even if it is just the one (let’s hope for more).
The plan is for King to pen the episode with his son, Joe Hill who has written such horror novels as “The Heart-Shaped Box” and “Horns”. The second season will take the survivors to Hershel’s Farm. Other than that, no other solid info has been offered up.
King put THE WALKING DEAD as number 2 on his list of best television shows of last year.
